About Book:Simin Behbahani, a poe of lyrical gift, Simin Behbahani was born in 1927 in Tehran of literary parents. She published her first poem at 14. Simin is the author of over a dozen books of poetry in Persian including The Broken Lute(1954), Footprint (1954), Candelburn (1955), Marble (1961), Resurrection (1971), A Trajectory of Speed and Fire (1980), Arzhan Plain (1983), Paper Dress (1992), and A Window to Freedom (1995).
She was awarded a Human Rights Watch-Helman/Hammet grant 1998, and similarly, in 1999, the Carl von Ossietzky Medal.
